May 1st I decided it would be a great day to walk with my dog to Bothell Landing which is about 6miles from my house. Along the way a pitbull chased us. Was very lucky that it was a pup and scared of me when I yelled at it to stop. In the end its chain got stuck under the tires of a van and I helped it get free again o__O;

Anyways... at Bothell Landing there is a little military memorial site built by eagle scouts, I think I know a few of them. They have flag poles with each branch of the military and of course our American flag and the WA flag. I also believe around the little area there are bricks or something with different solider's names, which branch they served and dates.

This means a lot to me because I have a lot of family members that have served including my dad. I also have a very close friend who's serving right now in the Army and who also just got shipped over to Iraq for the 2nd time.

I use a torn and tattered American flag as my avatar but not out of disrespect but because for some reason I was drawn to it. The first time I looked at that flag I was amazed at how it still blew in the air. Even though it was torn and old, it still maintained it's honour. Some mocked it as not important but the flag was still there. It reminded me of our troops. It was far away, damaged, and ignored by the general public for not being flashy. And still, it had a job to do until the very end. No matter what, that flag wouldn't go down. God Bless the troops!
